Our process involves a layer-by-layer installation approach. This ensures that your roof will be adequately protected and last for many years.
Ice and Watershield/ Self-Adhering Underlayment
An ice and water shield on the roof is a self-adhesive membrane or underlayment applied around the roof’s perimeter. This first step ensures that your foundation is protected from water damage.
To properly install the ice and water shield, we will measure the area to be covered and cut the material to size. Then, we apply the adhesive to the back of the ice and water shield and place it on the foundation. We use a heavy roller to ensure that the material properly adheres to the foundation.
Synthetic Underlayment
Our synthetic underlayment is made from durable, highly water-resistant plastic that helps prevent moisture damage to the decking material beneath your roof. We first lay out the material on the roof deck for installing it.
We then cut it to size and fasten it with either nails or staples. This can be essential not only for protecting your home’s structural integrity but also for ensuring a long and healthy lifespan for your roof.
Flashing/Drip Edge
Flashing helps prevent water seeping into the gaps around chimneys and skylights, while the drip edge directs water away from the roof and into the gutters. Proper installation of these components is essential for preventing leaks and ensuring a long-lasting roof.
We offer high-quality flashings and drip edges that are designed to last. Our pipe flashings are made from top-quality materials, including a superior powder-coated aluminum base and premium elastomeric collar seal. Additionally, we use hidden fasteners and clips to prevent leaks due to exposed fasteners.
Another critical aspect of our process is ensuring that your roof is properly sealed against potential leaks caused by water running down walls and side entrances. This involves installing high-quality flashings at several vital points in your roofing system, such as kick-out, aprons, and brick wall flashings. Each flashing comprises durable materials like aluminum and high-quality urethane sealant to withstand wear and tear from the elements while preventing leaks in your home.
Ridge Vent
A ridge vent is a ventilation system that helps to distribute air throughout the attic. This helps prevent moisture build-up, leading to mold growth and wood rot. Ridge vents also help keep the attic cooler in the summer and prevent ice dams from forming in the winter.
Starter Shingles
When it comes to roofing, your home is only as good as its weakest link. That’s why we only ever use starter shingles on our projects. Starter shingles are a type of roofing material that helps ensure that your roof will have a long and successful lifespan by providing an extra layer of protection against leaks and other damage.
They are placed along the eaves and act as a barrier against water and wind damage. In addition, they help to seal the edges of the shingles and prevent them from lifting. This is especially important in areas with high winds.
Trusses
The truss is the framework that supports your roof. It’s what gives your roof its shape and strength. At Roszman Roofing, we only use trusses that have been designed and engineered by professionals. This ensures that your roof can withstand anything that Mother Nature throws in its way.
In addition, we use only the highest-quality lumber for our trusses. We source our lumber from sustainably managed forests and treat it with a special preservative that helps to prevent rot and insect damage. This treatment also gives the lumber an extra layer of protection against fire.
Gutter, Eaves, and Downspouts
Your gutters and downspouts are also an essential part of your roofing system. They help collect rainwater and divert it away from your home, which helps prevent leaks and water damage.
At Roszman Roofing, we only use the highest quality gutters and downspouts on our projects. In addition, we install gutter guards on all of our projects to prevent leaves and other debris from clogging your gutters.
